Waiting for Him

I’m Diana. I’m 20. I’m waiting. And when I say I’m waiting, it’s probably not exactly what you think I’m talking about ( although I AM waiting for that too ;D ). I’m waiting on God. What I mean to say is that I am literally challenging myself to wholeheartedly seek God and just wait on Him. What am I waiting for exactly? I’m not quite sure myself, but I know it will include more of Him, more of Him, and more of Him in me. Get the point? I hope you do.
I went to the doctor the other day  (I’ve had a terrible throat pain for over 2 weeks :/) and after being seen initially by the nurse, she told me to sit in the doctors office and wait for the doctor to arrive. So..
I waited.
Looked at the computer to my right.
I waited.
Glanced at the wall.
I waited.
Looked at the garbage can that read “bio hazard”… and wondered what could be so hazardous in a doctor’s office. (Now that I think about it…a lot could be hazardous in a doctor’s office.)
I waited.
Thought about randomly getting up and walking around, and then decided not to because I wouldn’t know how I would explain to the doctor what I was doing if he came in and saw me.

I waited.

I waited …..

……and waited

and waited…..

Finally the doctor appeared and my appointment was on it’s way.

The point of that little blurb wasn’t just to expose to you guys the nonsense that goes on in my head sometimes, but rather to illustrate the fact that every single day we find ourselves waiting. Whether we notice it or not. We plan our lives around moments, and then we wait for those moments to occur in order to feel fulfilled. I don’t want to live like that. God tells us to wait on Him. Isaiah 40:31 says “Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.” Psalm 27:14 says “Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD”.

So I’m challenging myself to wait on God for the constant revelation of Himself. Wait at His feet for more of Him.  I think we often forget that the purpose of Christ taking away our guilt and shame when He died on the cross, and raising back to life in victory ,wasn’t simply to grant us unmerited forgiveness; but rather, our forgiveness also leads to our reconciliation with God. Col 1:19-22 says “For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross. This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions. Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault." This is so awesome because it means I can actually have a legit relationship with my  Maker. If any of you know me, you’ll know that I love people and their stories…even random strangers. So, to think that I can actually have the ultimate relationship with the Lover of my soul is mind-blowing.

So guys, lets wait on God. I don’t just mean waiting on Him to provide your future spouse, or career, or even the will He has for you life (although all these things are wonderful and great), let’s wait on Him for the revelation of who He is. Let’s wait on Him- for Him. Hosea 12:6
