God is Good!

There is a man on my campus who rides around in a wheelchair-scooter…usually at a pretty noticeable speed J. I've seen this guy speed through the library on his scooter, taking care of business. Trust me, I definitely never want to get in his way when he’s on the go. Last night, I saw him walking with crutches. I didn't know he could walk; apparently he could. He was heading to his car and I walked up behind him
(had the circumstances been different, and characters flipped, this would seem like a  very threatening/sketchy moment). I asked him if he didn't have to use his scooter anymore, and he told me that he still did. Not before long I found myself asking questions as to why he had to be dependent on the scooter. He kindly took the time and explained to me that he had no knee in his left leg. He was hit by a train 20-something years ago, and his knee was removed. Since that day, he has had numerous surgeries and procedures done to his leg. Now, he lives a life dependent on his scooter. As he finished telling me the story I said, what I thought was the appropriate thing to say ,“I’m sorry to hear that”. His response floored me.
He said “Don’t be. God is good!”

How true those words are. God is good!!! You see when I really started to think about it. The Holy Spirit helped me to see a glimpse of such an amazing truth. No matter how harsh a circumstance, how beautiful a situation, or how painful a decision, God is good. There is absolutely NOTHING in this world that can change or alter that truth.  God’s goodness is not contingent upon my present situation. He is good on my good days, and my bad days alike. It is for that reason He deserves ALL the WORSHIP , ALL THE TIME- when I feel like it and when I don’t. This post is really a reminder to myself just how worthy our Father truly is !!!
