Mumford & Psalms

"I Will Wait" - a new song by Mumford and Sons has to be one of the most popular songs on
 the radio today. So, I decided to look at the lyrics...and here's a little snippet of it
" And I'll kneel down
Wait for now
And I'll kneel down
Know my ground.
And I will wait, I will wait for you
And I will wait, I will wait for you"

You guys, lately I've been having a really hard time. Not because life has been terrible. Not at all. Life has been great, but this little mind of mine has been having a complete breakdown. So without boring you guys with all the details, let's just say I got to a point where I was questioning  the very basis of my salvation. Yup, wondering if maybe I got it wrong. Wondering if everything I believe was somehow false. So absolutely confused by the different doctrines, I nearly lost it.  And all the while, I was terrified. Terrified because Jesus is all I know. I mean, He is literally my best friend, my Lord..and I thought about what life would be like without Him and that thought just...yeah.
Through it all though, God has really calmed my heart, in the way only He knows how to do. He reminded me that He is the author and perfecter of my faith (Heb 12:2). By fixing my eyes on Him, He'll lead me into the truth. I mean, He IS the truth. So, that's really steadied my heart. I can actually breathe now.

I've realized that the more I learn about the character of God (through His word), the more I'm able to  know when something seems completely out of line with what He's shown me about Himself. So this morning I was reading Psalm 130, and I found a couple of verses that resonated with me like crazy. Thus, I'm glad to say after this long journey of just being confused and plagued in my mind, I'm back to square one. Waiting on God. My life story!
 "I wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
    and in his word I hope;
my soul waits for the Lord
    more than watchmen for the morning,
    more than watchmen for the morning." (Ps 130:5-6)
So, even though I'm not sure who Mumford and Sons are waiting on, I'll be waiting on my Maker...and be joyful about it. I mean look at the people in this video ;)
