Sweet Confession

Have you guys ever had a heavy heart? It's almost as if you can feel the pressure in your chest? I know I surely have. Whenever there is something very important that I need to take up to God in prayer, I tend to feel this way. Last week Wednesday, that's exactly how I felt. I had sinned, and really needed to discuss a situation with God, and until I did that, I kept feeling that inward discomfort. So, after my first class, I went to God in prayer and let it all out. I confessed my sin (as embarrassing and confusing as it was). I told God how sorry I was, and I desperately asked Him to help me. After that I lifted up the situation to Him, and I opened the Word, really wanting encouragement. I'm in the book of Revelation right now, but instead I went to Psalms.God knew just what I needed at that moment! Trust me when I tell you guys that God handpicked this Psalm for  me.

Psalm 32

Of David. A maskil.[a]

Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
    whose sin the Lord does not count against them
    and in whose spirit is no deceit.
When I kept silent,
    my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
    your hand was heavy on me;
my strength was sapped
    as in the heat of summer.[b]
Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.
I said, “I will confess
    my transgressions to the Lord.”
And you forgave
    the guilt of my sin.
Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;
surely the rising of the mighty waters
    will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
    or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts in him.
11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;
    sing, all you who are upright in heart!

How encouraging is that!! Man, I know what David meant by verse 2.Not taking our sin to God can really be the worst feeling in the world. So I encourage you all to be honest with God about your sins, brutally honest. Yes, He already knows, but He wants us to come to Him with a broken and repentant heart and leave it all at the feet of Jesus. It's like being a parent and having your child steal a cookie from the cookie jar before dinner time (totally against the rules ;p). Even though you know he stole the cookie, and you know that he knows that you know he stole it (follow me here), you'd still want him to come to you, repentant and say "Sorry Mommy/ Daddy, i know what i did wasn't right, can you forgive me?" This example fails to portray the fact that we serve a perfect and holy God, who justly punishes sin. Jesus becoming sin on the cross, was no easy task. His death on the cross satisfied God's wrath for our sin. Isn't that so awesome?????? Jesus defeated sin and death and now we are redeemed when we place our faith in His work! Guys, God is so faithful to restore the joy of salvation to us.  Trust me, I know! So no matter how big or small your sin may seem to you, boldly approach the throne of grace to find help in time of need. God forgives His people, and now...............................................................
I FEEL GOOD...TANANANA..i knew that I WOULD TANANANA!!( a little james brown for you guys.)
I ALMOST FORGOT...after talkignto God about it, I also spoke to a close sister in Christ, and confessed my sin to her. James 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
