Desperate

I find myself in a very interesting  season:
I'm engaged to the man I want to marry
I got into grad school to study a topic I'm really interested in
My internship is coming to a close, and I've seen God do amazing things through it

And yet in the midst of all of this wonder, I find myself in a state of dependence. Total dependence. Well at least recognition of the dependence I need to have on God. Each day is a new battle. Each day is a new opportunity to press into Jesus and marvel at the wonder of who He is.

And honestly, as much as I'd love to say that I am always good at doing this, I find that I am not. Although I see a glimpse of my desperate need for Jesus, I still struggle with completely depending on Him. And although I know that NOTHING ELSE IN THIS WORLD will ever satisfy, I still try looking to other sources for eternal joy. And they never satisfy.

So for anyone out there who feels tired, or weary, or helpless, this is just a short post of encouragement for you. Christ is sufficient. His grace is enough. Look to Him for He is the spring of living water that will never run dry. He never sleeps, slumbers, or grows weary. Jesus is enough.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to Me, all [a]who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is [b]easy and My burden is light.”

Isaiah 55:1-5
 “Ho! Every one who thirsts, come to the waters;
And you who have no [a]money come, buy and eat.
Come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without cost.
“Why do you [b]spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And delight yourself in abundance.
Incline your ear and come to Me.
Listen, that [c]you may live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you,
According to the faithful mercies [d]shown to David.
“Behold, I have made him a witness to the peoples,
leader and commander for the peoples.
“Behold, you will call a nation you do not know,
And a nation which knows you not will run to you,
Because of the Lord your God, even the Holy One of Israel;
For He has glorified you.”
